Performance with Pride

Welcome to the Blue & Gold Regiment program with a performance focus in Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, Marching Band, Color Guard, and Percussion Ensemble. The Blue & Gold Regiment's mission is to create a diverse community of student performers that motivates, inspires, and brings people together through superior performance. The award-winning program has earned music honors, sweepstakes, percussion and winterguard championships, and superior ratings by Northern California Band Association and California Music Education Association.

The Director, Mario H. Sebastian, was selected to conduct the CMEA-CS High School Honor Band and the NCBA Junior High Honor Band. Through the success of the EGHS Music Department, Mario H. Sebastian was awarded ABC Channel 10 Teacher of the Month June 2024, NCBA Young Band Director of the Year in 2005, and the 2026 California Music Education Association Capitol Section Band Director of the Year. Mr. Sebastian has served in the NCBA Board as President and is currently an NCBA Adjudicator, CMEA Board as Vice President, and CMEA-CS as High School Honor Band Coordinator. Elk Grove High School performs is Disneyland, performed at the 2008 San Diego Bowl, and has performed in Carnegie Hall NY in 2015 and 2023.

Our regiment's core values of honor, effort, respect, and determination guide our members toward constant self-improvement, helping the regiment toward a successful journey. As a well-rounded premiere program, we inspire the community through music education and artistry, demonstrating the importance of the arts in public schools. We strive towards excellence and a successful story to inspire the future of the Blue & Gold Regiment.
